if you do an *external* wastegate tube aka B&B then you don't need some monstrosity 3" tubing to contain the flow leaving the turbine. I think the diameter of the turbine is around 40mm even on your *T28s* 3" tubing is 75.4mm.. lot of wasted pipe. Even if you were using a full house T28 wheel in a true T25 housing the turbine exit diameter is 48mm so you'd still have to crush the 3" pipe to mate it up to the housing. If you look at the B&B downpipes, even on their 3" pipe it's only the pipe after the external wastegate pipe that is 3" : it makes no sense for a 2.5" tubing since you'll get turbulent flow right after the turbo. it's best to match the tubing to a 3" setup since it'll be better mated for the turbo outlet.
